Chung Seoyoung presents a new sound installation that provokes a certain experience of the third domain with one’s visual and auditory senses. It was produced in the process of converting sights of scenes while walking on the street to words and ambient sound. The sound is welded into Chung’s sculpture and finally. Audience should engage with her sculptural structure to listen to the sound. Delivering what we have seen through speech is able to understand as everyday performance. Most of the time, however, the effort we make to do so is mostly about making up stories. They are interfered by unexpected elements when they are passed on through time: Those stories are affected by occasional silences, memory, exaggeration, omission, gesture and interference. If we ponder such moments, it will be possible for us to grasp how we exercise our perception out of what we have seen in things, rather than to concern how we can be successful to delivery of what one have seen.
