Inwardly, Determine Yourself is an installation with a huge polygonal mirror and a wooden desk inserted among a row of furniture, which belong to the Jeonggwanheon building. The furniture are replicas of the original antiques, displayed in the building to illustrate the fact that they were used for banquets. Visitors sit on them to take photos or just to take a rest. Jeonggwanheon, in fact, is a pavilion without walls except for one side where visitors view the palace through its open facade. However, the overt presence of furniture in the site easily distracts the only capacity of the place, that is, the contemplation of its visitors. Moreover, the furniture cannot even be moved since they are registered as a part of the building. To overcome such a problem, Chung incorporated the landscape in the outside with a huge mirror, completing her sculptural installation with a small desk placed among the existing ones and unpractical arrangement of chairs.
